We were thrilled to be a part of producing the first ever London Beauty Week in Covent Garden, in association with the British Beauty Council. The public event took place just ahead of the renowned London Fashion Week and will hopefully grow to be a recurring fixture in the fashion and beauty industry's diary.
After all, the UK beauty industry is estimated to be worth a whopping £27.2 billion according to the Evening Standard and last year alone the public spent £3 billion on cosmetic products and £6.3 billion on hair services… and the figures are only increasing.
As home to more standalone beauty boutiques in one square mile than anywhere else in the capital, Covent Garden is growing to be known as London's Beauty Quarter and was therefore the perfect location for LBW.
In the 'beauty playground' on the Piazza, visitors were able to enjoy various activations, from free ice-cream and a photo moment in front of the step and repeat board, to spinning a wheel of fortune for a beauty prize from top brands such as Chanel, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford, Aesop, Nars, Miller Harris, Penhaglion's, Kiko, Africology, Miller Harris, Molton Brown, Atelier Cologne and more.
Special beauty talks were also held at an indoor venue on Floral Street, with hosts such as Glamour Magazine, Feel Unique, Treatwell and Jasmine Hemsley, to name a few. They covered all things pertaining to the beauty industry and its relationship with issues like sustainability, tech, social media and wellbeing, including a live Life and Lipstick podcast on Facebook / IGTV.
Beauty Banks were also on site for guests to donate cosmetics, toiletries and personal care items for those in need, receiving a fantastic response from the crowd. The charity organisation exists to provide those living in poverty with hygiene essentials and feel-good products to promote dignity, self-confidence and mental wellbeing.
We can't wait to see how LBW will expand in years to come!
