Alfresco Dining Experience x Covent Garden01.07.20

It’s been a tough couple of months, to say the least…

It’s also been a time of serious reflection, from how we treat others, to how we live and work.

It truly does feel like we are on the cusp of something greater, and for many, we have used our time in lockdown to better ourselves and focus on what we want our future to look like (i.e. no more banana bread – PLEASE!)

As we ease out of lockdown, we want to focus our attention on celebrating the wonder that is human kindness.

We’ve seen so many acts of courage, whether it be our nurses and doctors battling the frontline, Amazon drivers dropping off our tie-dye kits, or the simple act of a neighbour offering to pick up some bread and milk.

750,000 of us have signed up to volunteer - including 4 individuals from our own office - and we saw veteran Tom Moore raise over £32m for the NHS.

Covent Garden has brought us in to help to say thank you.

As a symbol of a new start and alternative way of looking at dining – we have been asked to install the ‘alfresco dining experience,’ right in the heart of the Piazza for Londoners looking for a place to catch up & enjoy the best things in life.

London's West End set to become outdoor dining district — here's how it will happen

With colourful open-air seating and arguably one of the best lunch spots in London, it is definitely not one to be missed… especially as we start to see the summer sun! You will be able to enjoy the dining experience for free, right up until September.

A socially distanced queuing system has been marked out, and hand sanitiser supplied. As restaurants are slowly starting to open, takeaway has been made readily available – which means you can sip your fresh coffee in the sunshine with a book, or grab a slice of pizza with the friends you feel like you haven’t seen in forever!

The Oystermen is running happy hour between 3pm and 5pm, when customers can buy six oysters and a glass of bubbly for £10.

Frenchie, the Parisian-style restaurant set up by celebrity chef Greg Marchand, is selling takeaway wine and beer by the glass and pint and delivers a three-course meal box.

If that’s not enough, Buns & Buns can satisfy your carb cravings with everything from bao to baguette – although we do warn you, once you’ve tried their Lobster brioche roll, you can NEVER look back.

We really do hope to see you there soon – and if you do visit, please do remember to tag us @timebased so we can see all your lovely faces!

Until then…
